Before and after: Comprehensive refurbishment at The Dell in Greenhithe
Often, the secret to a good renovation is getting the use of space just right. For the owner of The Dell in Greenhithe, the rooms in his home felt awkward and lacklustre. So he called on Sentinel Design and Build to change the layout throughout both floors so that the space would better reflect his lifestyle.
Let’s have a look at a couple of the highlights.
A kitchen to be proud of
The rear section of the ground floor oozed with potential. Originally, this space was a reception room with two French doors opening onto a back patio.
Structural work was carried out, with a steel lintel making it feasible to install an expansive sliding door that spills light into the room. Dining and socialising now take place in a more relaxed atmosphere.
And the room itself has been transformed from a drab lounge into a luxury modern kitchen, with an attractive two-tone cabinet-surface combo bringing contemporary character to the space. It also benefits from underfloor heating installed by our plumbing and heating experts.
A snug that befits the name
Sometimes a room just seems to lose its character and purpose, and that’s what happened with the snug room at The Dell. It had become a space nobody really used – not snug at all.
Here a complete redecoration meant we could simplify the room and our client could bring in some simple, beautiful décor and furniture that really makes a statement.
